The best part of finishing a semester is knowing you did your very best. I finished another semester. It was a great experience. I need an extended break, it is no where in site.

Mini Term

I finished another Mini Term with a group of young people. I am really starting to feel more mature than ever before. I tried to share and be a good example on the trip to Austin, Texas with a group of really young adult students from DBU Oct. 4-6 2010. I spent a few days enjoying Austin capitol and hanging with one cool professor. She shared a tremendous amount of wisdom, knowledge and thought provoking conversation during our rode trip to and from Austin. I was her rode companion. We talked about law school, children, places to eat, my future plans for employment. I am so excited to be a student at this institute of higher learning.

We the Jurors made a decision to make everyone responsible. The was an experience I will never forget or want to repeat being selected to decide someone monetrary value for injuries.

I am in a 8:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Old Testament Class. @DBU I am looking forward to this higher learning experience. I pray for a safe journey to and from school in the late evening.

My Civic Duties!!!!!

I was chosen for Civil Court Jury duty. First time ever...It's really exciting...that is all I can say at this time (sworn to secrecy). However, My view of downtown and the extra pay is worth it all. This experience allows me to view the world through someone other than my eyes. Working downtown may not be a bad idea after all. I have pics to prove it!!!

The temperature was very HOT!!!!! The crowd was hype!!! The singers were amazing!!! and Fred Hammond was Wonderful! I enjoyed the evening my friends Charita was my guest we had a great time!

Beyond my comfort ZONE!

I had the opportunity and it was $$$$ free to experience Yoga! Downtown Dallas @ the AT&T Center. It was unbelievable and freeing all at the same time. It was amazing the view was spectacular and the participates' ability to stretch themselves to amazing posing and positions made me work harder to improve myself. The music and instructor was AWESOME! Check out my bod!!!!

THOUGHTS ON A FRIDAY

This Friday I am home alone. Enjoyable, peaceful, empowering with me, myself and I. I am happy, I am at peace quiet evening. I am resting school starts in about 4 weeks. I have 2 classes this Fall Mini Term with trip to Austin Business/Public Law and Communication Styles every other Saturday F2. I am getting ready for this experience in higher learning look out DBU here I come.

Grown woman moves all week. It is time for me to step out of the little girl, little sista, sheltered world and self protected environment. I am living in a time where life is too short to live in the should have, could have thoughts. Keeping it real for my sanity.

CAMP PAID OFF!!!

My God-Daughter's Teco Production ... 8 weeks of summer camp paid off we had a Great night out. Go!!! Livvy Go!! Sissy!!! My niece Chelsea had a Great time it was her first Teco experience!!!

My thoughts from the weekend. Friday evening lil peeps came over for the night Caitlyn and Caleb Johnson my friends Rosa and Andre's 11 1/2 year old daughter and 2 1/2 year old son. Saturday we ventured out for maybe an hour or so..back home until parents picked them up.

Friend Terri's Father passed away. I had the opportunity to visit him in LA on 2 occasions.

Sunday evening light jog...back home....reading Hill Harper...Conversations and watching Sideways for the first time on DVD both I picked up from the library.

Friday, July 3, 2010 ... Weather forecast raining and cloudy...I spent a portion with friends Jo and Terri .. spent minimal $. Pappadeaux and back home to relax. Waiting for friend Button to drop my for some Sista Girl conversation.

Waiting to see how the weekend will unfold for this holiday. So far Friday, July 2, 2010 rainy and cloudy. My sofa is my bestest friend for the evening!

My bookclub friends are a Great way to connect and enjoy a little bubbly! Last read "Same kind of Difference as Me". It was a really good read. Briggs, Vonda, Denetra, Terri and of course yours truly Jackie.

I completed a 5k run in Grand Prairie, Texas on my 42nd Birthday mmm!!! I think....I ran ha! and walked 3.25 miles in about 45 minutes...Let's see what next year "B" Day holds.

I have a new toy my camera .. this summer I will try new things, read a book/watch a movie that is not self-help. Plan a trip just for fun! Relax more and enjoy being with friends and family. Enjoy my sofa last payment this month YEAH!

Once again I have completed a long but fulfilling semester of higher learning @ DBU.

Greek Mythology has been the most interesting class experience. The knowledge I gain in the class introduced me to a world far beyond my understanding.

I decided to test the waters of my comfort and attend the movies to watch my first OUT OF THE BOX theater movie "Clash of the Titans" it was exciting. I laughed and enjoyed the experience of Zeus and Io whom I remember so well in my studies, however I missed Hera my favorite. I must get a copy of the original.

This class better known as World Literature was a good challenge.

My New Testament course experience encourage me to keep going beyond my norm and my comfortable level. Biblical studies will continue to be my life long learning experience.

I am excited about my 42nd Birthday. My God-daughter's Lauryn & Kirstyn will also be celebrating their 11th Birthday, they are the most amazing little women I know.
